Fabric shopping in Brighton

Last Wednesday was my birthday and I spent a lovely day with Matt in Brighton. There are some really great fabric shops there…

This fabric shop is small but perfectly formed. It has a mixture of fabrics on offer, but my favourite are the cottons, in particular some lovely coloured spots.

If there ever was a fabric shop that deserved to be called an aladdin’s cave, this is it. There is fabric piled up everywhere, so you have to be prepared to have a bit of a rummage to find what you are looking for. They also have an amazing range of trimmings behind the till. Best of all, they have this cabinet full, and I mean full of buttons. I need it.

This was my favourite shop. There were lots of lovely printed cottons, both by the metre and also stacked up in fat quarters. They had some unusual trimmings on offer, as well as all the usual staples of thread and some gorgeous bundles of wool felt. Well worth a visit, the staff are lovely too.
