Knit Pompey

I spent yesterday afternoon helping to make a wall of seaweed! The wall is going to be just one element in a fantastic knitted installation of Portsmouth’s skyline, a project which has had a worldwide reach. Organised by Katrina Henderson and Jo Wright, this community based project has involved hundreds of people, who have knitted 1800 items for the seascape – including no less than 1000 fishes in many different colours! The photos below show you just a few of the beautiful things that generous people have given their time to knit. I can’t wait to see the finished piece, which will be on display at the National Museum of the Royal Navy in Portsmouth’s Historic Dockyard very soon!
