A beautifully wrapped present is such a lovely thing! Over the next few days I’m going to share three of my favourite, thrifty ways to make your presents look even more special. I normally use brown paper for all my presents and then personalise it for the recipient using colours and different ribbons over the top. Today I am going to show you how to make some knitted ribbon!
This method of wrapping a present was inspired by my Mum! A couple of years ago, our home made presents were wrapped with green knitted strips and a big red button. I’ve picked four wintry colours for my ribbon and knitted them together using 7 mm needles.
I cast on 6 stitches and knitted until my strip was the right length to go around my box. Then I sewed the two ends together and knitted a strip for the other side. I picked a lovely blue button to go on the top! Happy wrapping!
